Ama Dablam, Nepal

Lizzy Hawker

endurance athlete and 100 km world champion

Climb the mountains and get their good tidings. Nature's peace will flow into you as sunshine flows into trees. The winds will blow their own freshness into you, and the storms their energy, while cares will drop off like autumn leaves.
JOHN MUIR

mountains

It all started at the age of six when I saw my first mountains on a visit to Zermatt in the Swiss Alps.  The Matterhorn caught the soul of a young child.  I cried to leave when we took the train back down the valley to go home. It was the start of a lifelong love affair.  From then the mountains have felt like home - a sanctuary, a challenge and an inspiration all at the same time.
